Description
This site contains information for both riding skills and mechanical skills. It can inform you of everything from basic knowledge of the motorcycling sport to proficient riding techniques which could save your life. This is a .com site and there are product to offer but few that apply to Honda Goldwings.
While sometimes controversial in the philosophies and methods, the Motorcycle Safety Foundation is, in fact the center of the national motorcycle safety movement. Their courses are offered in every state of the union and cover everything from basic riding skills to advanced training. Most of the courses provide a dual approach. First classroom and then practical training. There are courses offered in the Tucson areea by Pima Community College and by T.E.A.M. Arizona. This site is particularly interesting when it comes to describing and defining group riding. Group rides are not necessarily safe. In fact, they bring up their own set of hazards that may be extreme if not dealt with intelligently. Look through the jargon and the suggestions. They will be helpful to you.
The United States Navy provides this site for naval personnel that would like to ride. However it is useful to any who might want to learn more about hazards and techniques.
Snell is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to research, education, testing and development of helmet safety standards. Since its founding in 1957, Snell has been a leader in helmet safety in the United States and around the world.
This video is truly worth viewing. Jay Leno of Tonight Show fame has long been a motor sports aficionado. He has a particular love for motorcycles and owns everything from a Suzuki X6 Hustler to a Yamaha R6 and a few Harleys thrown in. In the linked video he discusses helmet fitting with a representative from Arai Helmets. It is part commercial but very good information for al of us.
